AmCham Advocacy Flash: Highlights of Upcoming and Recent Initiatives - Jan 18- 25, 2022

Recent Initiatives:  

  • AmCham Meetings with the Romanian Government: On January 25, AmCham representatives had an introductory meeting with Minister of Environment Barna Tánczos to discuss the strategic topics under the umbrella of the green transition with a focus on #environment and #energy policies as well as funding mechanisms.

 AmCham positioned itself as a partner for dialogue in the context of both the transformations triggered by the European #GreenDeal and the path towards a #sustainable and #circulareconomy besides the need for our country to solve structural deficiencies in areas such as waste management. The meeting was attended by the the leadership of the AmCham Environment, Energy and Structural Funds Committees and the follow-up will be carried out in the following period at the level of the Committees.


 

Position Papers:  

  • Jan 21: Amendment proposals to Draft Decision Modifying Government Ordinance 807 from 2014, Competition and State – Aid Committee.  


Upcoming Initiatives:  

  • On Jan 26, members of the AmCham Board of Directors will be meeting the Minister of Economy, Florin Spătaru for an introductory meeting on the AmCham priorities for the dialogue with the Minister of Economy. 

  • On Feb 8, for the first edition of the AmCham CEO Forum in 2022, AmCham invited PM Nicolae Ciucă to share the key priorities on Govt’ agenda and to learn from AmCham members what are the main concerns, challenges and recommendations in terms of business and economic development. Participation by invitation only, limited to CEO reps (one person/member company). For details, contact us at amcham@amcham.ro
