On October 27, 2021, the AmCham Corporate Governance Committee organized the second edition of the AmCham – ZF online conference Corporate Governance: from buzzword to strategic pillar for sustainable development. A record of the conference is available here. Approx. 1400 people watched the live event.
On October 27, 2021, the AmCham Corporate Governance Committee organized a new edition of the Young People Ask, Experts Answer webinar series in partnership with Junior Achievement Romania. The dialogue between representatives of the committee and young people enrolled in Junior Achievemnt Romania programs focused on the role of corporate governance in building sustainable businesses and attracting investments from early stages.
On October 28, 2021, the AmCham Corporate Governance Committee organized a webinar on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest. The FCPA: An investigative focus was facilitated by FBI Special Agent James Kelley.
These initiatives were part of the AmCham #GoodGovernanceMonth.
On October 27 and 28, 2021, AmCham members joined a dialogue on the EU digital transition and agriculture respectively, with Romanian MEPs. The events were organized by Coaliția pentru Dezvoltarea României (CDR).

Upcoming Initiatives:
On November 5, 2021, the AmCham Capital Markets and Financial Services Committee will organize a new edition of the Young People Ask, Experts Answer webinar series in partnership with Junior Achivement Romania. The dialogue between representatives of the committee and young people enrolled in Junior Achievemnt Romania programs will focus on managing the budget of a startup, financial education and funding opportunities for early-stage businesses.
On November 15, 2021, the AmCham Corporate Governance will host the 2021 edition of the Roundtable with SOEs on corporate governance, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice. The discussion will focus on the 2021-2025 National Anti-corruption Strategy and the transposition of the EU Directive on the Protection of Whistleblowers.
