On April 3rd AmCham Romania members welcomed U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker to discuss the U.S. and international agenda for Ukraine’s reconstruction and potential opportunities for companies in Romania to join this effort.
Special Representative Pritzker was accompanied by Deputy Special Representative Tyson Baker and a team of US Embassy Bucharest, Romania Officers led by Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec.
"As an organization that has stood for public-private cooperation and transatlantic values for over 30 years, AmCham is pleased to host this important discussion today on the much-needed reconstruction of Ukraine and the relaunch of its economy, in the, let’s hope, near future. We believe the international effort to restart Ukraine’s economy, particularly the U.S.-led effort, needs a strong foothold in Romania", said AmCham Romania President Cristian Sporiș opening the event.
Special Representative Pritzker acknowledged Romania’s broad efforts to support Ukraine since the war started and pointed out that from the U.S. perspective, Romania will be an important launchpad for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
Our high-level guest emphasized the strong U.S. focus on planning the reconstruction and economic recovery and preparing the country's reform path to attract investments as soon as the security conditions are there. Ukraine’s EU accession is also an important driver for reform that will contribute to improving the investment landscape.
