Recent Initiatives​

  • The AmCham Education Task Force set up a dedicated working group to proactively prepare AmCham’s proposals and recommendations for the new Education Law (expected to take effect in 2023). AmCham members interested to join this working group are invited to email Manuel Cazac (mcazac@amcham.ro).  

 

  • The AmCham Education Task Force continues to collect replies on the survey regarding the availability and future of skills in Romania. If you haven’t filled in the survey yet, you can still do so here. If you need further details, please contact Manuel Cazac (mcazac@amcham.ro).  


     

Events & Meetings with Stakeholders

  • On March 25, 2022, the AmCham Digital Economy Committee met with Dragoș-Cristian Vlad, President of the Agency for the Digitization of Romania (ADR) to learn more about President’s Vlad short- and medium-term priorities. Among the topics discussed were the targets and milestones for reforms and investments under the NRRP digital transformation pillar as well as the continued collaboration between the AmCham community and the Authority.

Updates from the U.S. Chamber/AmCham Network 

The Transatlantic Economy 2022 presents the most up-to-date facts and figures about the economic relationship. The research was conducted independently by Daniel Hamilton and Joseph Quinlan at the Foreign Policy Institute at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies and the Transatlantic Leadership Network. 

The study includes dedicated profiles for 30+ European countries and all US states. 

This year’s study features new insights into how the war in Ukraine affects the transatlantic relationship, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, prospects for the recovery, global supply chain issues, relations with China and the transatlantic energy economy.
