In a reality where 1 in 4 children drop out of school before the age of 15 and half of 15-year-olds cannot understand a text they read, after more than 8 years spent in school, Teach for Romania attracts and trains competent and motivated people to transform education in Romania from the grassroots.

The organization has been bringing performance to public education since 2014, especially in the most vulnerable communities, where school dropout is learned at home, from generation to generation and where illiteracy is a common reality.

What's happening in the 2024-2025 school year?

Over 200 teachers are part of the Teach for Romania program and teach in 155 schools, in 29 counties, for over 30,000 children.

But do you know what we can do together in the 2025-2026 school year?

• For individuals, you can choose to redirect 3.5% of your income tax to Teach for Romania. If you do so, we will be able to cover the costs for at least one hour of quality teaching by a teacher supported by the organization, for a class of children from a vulnerable school. A 230 form, calculated at the average salary in the economy, covers one quality hour of a teacher.
• For companies you can choose to redirect up to 20% of your profit tax to Teach for Romania during the fiscal year. By doing so, you will have the opportunity to support more than one hour of quality teaching. Companies can also choose what happens with the taxes they paid for 2024 fiscal year, by redirecting up to 20% through 177 Form.
