AmCham Romania partnered with Confederatia Patronala Concordia, CCI Française en Roumanie, Foreign Investors Council (FIC), Romanian Business Leaders, and AHK Romania to send a joint signal of support on Romania's accession to the OECD.
Today's conference - Romania and the OECD - the Main Country Project after NATO, EU and Schengen was organized in partnership with Calea Europeană under the High Patronage of the President of Romania and hosted by the Romanian Presidency at the Cotroceni Palace.
On AmCham Romania’s behalf, Cristian Sporis reiterated our business community’s commitment towards this strategic objective:
“When we as an organization assumed the support of this strategic objective, we had exactly this perspective - that it is one of the determining landmarks for Romania's long-term path. We are glad that this is a perspective assumed by most of the business community – proof of which is the very signal of support that we reiterate together today. OECD membership is not just a destination, but a process of profound transformation. We must work together to ensure that this journey is completed and that we fully capitalize on all the opportunities it brings. On behalf of AmCham, I would like to express my appreciation to those involved at the governmental and diplomatic levels for the timely progress of the accession process to date. Our call is for the country's project to remain assumed across all parties even after the upcoming elections, and this is because OECD accession is not only a national strategic objective, but also an extraordinary opportunity to profoundly transform the economy, public administration and business environment in Romania.”
The conference was livestreamed on the partners' Facebook pages, and key messages were covered in live text by CaleaEuropeană.ro.
