The AmCham AGM on March 26 marked the first AmCham event welcoming the new U.S. Ambassador to Romania, Darryl Nirenberg. 

His message for AmCham members highlighted the importance of economic diplomacy and AmCham's contribution to advancing bilateral cooperation, as well as priorities for his mandate. 

"This is one of my first events here as U.S. Ambassador, and I’m glad to start my tenure together with the business community. Thank you to Vlad, Letitia, the AmCham Board of Directors, and the whole AmCham team for the warm welcome and for your strong partnership with our embassy.

And, it is such an honor to have Prime Minister Bolojan with us this evening. Mr. Prime Minister, I was grateful for the audience you gave me so early in my tenure here and so enjoyed meeting with you. I also appreciate you and your team being such great partners of the United States and your support for our commercial relationship.

My very first meeting after being sworn in as an Ambassador was with AmCham Romania in Washington during your Door Knock in January. I was so impressed with the vibrancy of your organization and your work in building a stable, predictable business climate that supports investments."
