Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan honored AmCham Romania members by joining as a special guest at the Annual General Meeting on March 26, 2026.
He shared his perspectives on Romania’s economic outlook and key reform priorities, and engaged in a meaningful dialogue with AmCham members on topics such as U.S.–Romania economic cooperation, human capital and education, fiscal competitiveness, attracting FDI, energy, and administrative reform.
Prime Minister Bolojan opened his message by thanking AmCham and its member companies for their contributions to Romania's overall growth, and by welcoming U.S. Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg, who was also on stage as a special guest at the AGM.
"First of all, I am honored to take part in this event of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania. My presence here is a sign of respect for those who have invested in Romania, who do business here, and for the people working in your companies. Thank you for your investments, for the capital and knowledge you bring—this is what drives Romania’s development. I am equally grateful to your employees, whose work supports families, contributes to public revenues, and ultimately sustains our country.
I would also like to thank AmCham Romania. Beyond representing American companies, you have been a true ambassador and a force for cohesion between Romania and the United States, supporting key objectives such as OECD accession and promoting our country's strengths.
I am here out of respect for the United States and would like to warmly welcome Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg. I am confident that, building on his extensive experience, he will play an important role in further strengthening the Romania–U.S. relationship."
