March 16 & 17 AmCham Romania Advocacy Delegation in Brussels

by AmCham Romania March 17, 2026

On March 16–17, AmCham Romania is leading an advocacy delegation to Brussels to engage with EU institutions and stakeholders and advance the business community's priorities across key policy areas: healthcare, energy, competition & state aid.

The first day of the delegation was dedicated to the healthcare stream, focusing on key EU legislative and policy developments, including the Critical Medicines Act, the EU Biotech Act, the EU Safe Hearts Initiative, MDR/IVDR, and prevention plans under the EU Pharmaceutical Legislation. In parallel, joint meetings also addressed competition-related topics such as the FDI Screening Mechanism, killer acquisitions, and the individualization of competition sanctions.

These topics were discussed in meetings with MEP Dan Barna, MEP Ștefan Mușoiu, Roxana Chirițoiu, Policy Adviser in the office of European Parliament Vice-President Victor Negrescu, and Ștefan Staicu, Health Attaché at the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union.

A full day of meetings is scheduled for March 17, the second day of the delegation. The healthcare stream continues its engagements, while members joining the delegation for the energy and competition streams begin their series of meetings with EU stakeholders, advancing AmCham Romania’s policy priorities across these key areas.
