AmCham Romania Board Meets Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office

During his Bucharest visit, Andrei Iancu, the highest ranked U.S. Government official of Romanian origin has met with members of the AmCham Romania Board of Directors to discuss general topics related to the business environment in Romania.

On this occassion the U.S. official reconfirmed the strong committment of the United States to support all forms of innovation.

“IPR are a tool innovation, and innovation is an absolutely necessary component of economic growth” said Andrei Iancu to stress the importance of the efforts to protect IPR as an enabler for innovation.

He considers the  collaboration between the Romania and the U.S., on matters of economics, on matters of commerce, on matters of Intellectual Property, on matters of many other different aspects very special, and considers Romania a country that is warm, with frienly people, and a trusted partner of the United States.
