Dear education advocate,
What do obstacles and failure mean to you?
For children growing up in rural communities, these words become real as early as their daily walk to school—often long and demanding—made in worn‑out shoes, clothes unfit for the weather, or with hearts already weighed down.
Children from vulnerable backgrounds carry more than books in their backpacks. Sometimes filled with small stones gathered in play, other times only symbolically, those bags reflect the many hardships they face—far more than children their age growing up in cities.
Teach for Romania prepares teachers who intentionally choose to work in vulnerable areas, bringing quality education, understanding, and meaningful support to children who are too often overlooked by the system.
The gap in educational quality experienced by children in Romania—determined by the place where they are born—is a divide we can help close, with your support.

The contribution of Teach for Romania supporters in the 2024–2025 school year helped more than 180 exceptional teachers step into classrooms in Romania’s villages. They are joined by over 330 graduates of the two-year Teach for Romania program, who work every day to respond to the needs of those overlooked by the system and to bring relief where hardships are many and help is scarce.
