Global law firm Dentons has announced two senior promotions in its Bucharest office as part of the 2026 promotion round: Maria Tomescu has been promoted to Partner and Angelica Pintilie to Counsel.

Maria Tomescu is a banking and finance lawyer with a practice spanning project finance, acquisition finance, derivatives, and financial regulation. She is recognized for her work in the renewables sector, advising on the financing and bankability of energy generation and storage projects across Romania and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). She has led some of the region’s most significant acquisition financing deals and is highly experienced in complex LMA-based financings. Her derivatives and regulatory work - including ISDA documentation, hedging structures, and financial institutions advisory - gives her a fully integrated perspective on sophisticated financing transactions.

Angelica Pintilie advises energy sector clients on both regulatory and transactional matters, supporting projects from early-stage development through financing, construction, acquisition, operation, and disposal. She has extensive experience across the renewable energy sector, including drafting and negotiating key project documentation such as PPAs. Her practice also covers electricity production, supply, distribution, trading, REMIT compliance, and market investigations, giving clients commercially grounded regulatory support across the full energy value chain.

In addition, Iulia Titirisca (Competition and Antitrust) and Alin Roca (Capital Markets, Corporate) have been promoted to senior associate.

Perry V. Zizzi, Romania Managing Partner at Dentons stated: "Congratulations to Maria, Angelica, Iulia and Alin on their well-deserved promotions. Their advancement reflects our firmly held conviction that growth comes not just through lateral hires but through internal promotions bolstered by our rigorous learning and development programs.”
