Charlie Cunningham-Reid, new General Manager of JTI Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria

Starting January, Charlie Cunningham-Reid is the new General Manager of JTI Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria. The position was held until now by Neil Coupland, who will be the General Manager of JTI Poland.

Charlie Cunningham-Reid has an experience of more than 20 years in marketing and commercial fields, with 11 years in the tobacco industry. He started his career in the music industry with Virgin Retail Ltd., and then, for four years, he was Business Manager in UK for Worldwide Brands Incorporated (WBI). Charlie joined JTI in 2001, at worldwide HQ Geneva where he held various positions, including brand management for Winston, Benson & Hedges, Silk Cut, Sobranie, Glamour and LD. He came to Romania last year as Vice President, Head of C&TM (Consumer & Trade Marketing) after having been General Manager of JTI Bulgaria.

JTI started its business in Romania in 1993, as the former R.J. Reynolds, being one of the first multinational companies established in Romania, with a total investment of over 100 million Euro. Last year, JTI Romania has completed an investment of 25 million Euro in the production facilities, which also involved the creation of over 125 new jobs. Also in 2012, the sale force was increased by over 50 people. The company currently has over 1,000 employees.
