AmCham Romania, through its Corporate Governance Committee, is pleased to host a new edition of the Roundtable with State-Owned Enterprises on Corporate Governance, in partnership with the Ministry of Justice, to take place on November 24, between 09:30 am and 12:30 pm at AmCham Romania (11 Ion Câmpineanu Street, Union International Center).
The Roundtable is one of the most appreciated and enduring projects of the AmCham Corporate Governance Committee, spanning 9 years and continuing to strengthen the engagement between our business community and State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) in Romania, to encourage and speed up the transfer of sound corporate governance practices between private businesses and SOEs.
This year's edition will explore the practical implementation of anti-bribery standards and the role of corporate governance and compliance frameworks in strengthening organizational integrity, bringing together perspectives and experiences from the public and private sectors.
The discussions will be structured around two sessions:
Session I | Implementing the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention: Perspectives from the Romanian Business Community
Led by the Ministry of Justice, this session will explore the practical implementation of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention, addressing compliance challenges, cross-border corruption risks, and preventive measures, drawing on perspectives from public authorities, legal practitioners, and the business sector.
Session II | The Role of Compliance and Leadership in Strengthening Organizational Integrity
Coordinated by the AmCham Romania Corporate Governance Committee, this session will focus on the organizational dimension of compliance, including the role of compliance functions, their interaction with management and boards, the integration of risk control mechanisms into business processes, and the effectiveness of internal integrity frameworks.
The discussion will build on AmCham Romania's guidelines and practical experience, including the Guidelines on the Role of the Chief Compliance Officer, Third Parties Anti-Corruption Due Diligence, and Whistleblowing Guidelines, highlighting practices that may also be relevant to state-owned enterprises.
The roundtable will provide an opportunity for open dialogue, practical insights, and the exchange of experiences on strengthening integrity and corporate governance across the public and private sectors.
AmCham Romania members interested in joining the event can register by November 20, 2026, 17:00.
