On October 21, AmCham Romania welcomed the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) delegation on their first visit to Romania, at a reception hosted by U.S. Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg.
The reception was part of AmCham Romania’s U.S. Relations agenda and followed a series of recent business engagements on both sides of the Atlantic that aim to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
Speaking in the opening of the event, AmCham President Vlad Boeriu highlighted the investment potential of Romania’s agricultural sector and the prospects of stronger business cooperation between the U.S. and Romania:
“While agriculture makes a positive contribution to Romania’s economy and employs one in ten people in the workforce, it is also a sector with a strong need for—and potential to attract—new domestic and foreign investment, for instance, in irrigation and water technology, precision agriculture, and more bilateral trade in goods.
The event brought together the U.S. delegates, AmCham members, and Romanian business and institutional representatives to explore new partnerships in agriculture and related sectors.
