On February 10, an AmCham Romania delegation of Board Members and leaders of U.S. companies in our business community, representing key industries, met with President Nicușor Dan to discuss the continued commitment of American companies to invest in Romania, and opportunities to strengthen U.S.-Romania economic relations.
In the recent years, American companies in Romania successfully completed major investment projects in new facilities and their investment plans remain strong.
The dialogue also emphasized how Romania’s assets, like its skilled workforce, digital & cyber infrastructures, EU membership, and srecent years, American companies in Romania successfully completed major investment projects in new facilities, trategic location, can ensure the country remains a strategic economic partner of the United States in sectors like critical minerals, energy or technology.
At the same time, business leaders noted the importance of improving competitiveness through fiscal and regulatory predictability, lower energy costs, and a professional one-stop shop for investors, to turn the strong investment intentions into local economic development and new jobs.
The meeting follows AmCham’s recent door-knock visit to Washington, where we promoted opportunities for more economic cooperation between the U.S. and Romania and advocated for Romania’s renewed relevance as a regional and European U.S. ally.
