AmCham Meets Minister of Labor Simona Bucura-Oprescu

On March 4th, AmCham Romania met Minister of Labor Simona Bucura-Oprescu for a policy-industry dialogue on shared priorities for improving the labor market and human capital in Romania, an essential pillar for Romania’s economic competitiveness.

The discussion covered recommendations and measures for an efficient and equitable labor market and for adapting the labor legislation to the needs and dynamics of the economy.

On the agenda:

  • Transposition of the Wage Transparency Directive
  • Reporting obligations for disabled persons (Law 448/2006)
  • An efficient process for issuing work permits for non-EU workers
  • Temporary work agents
  • The high number of health-related legal requirements

The AmCham delegation included: Co-Chair of the AmCham Romania Labor Committee, Anca Grigorescu, Member of the AmCham Board of Directors, Georgiana Cosoveanu, Member of the AmCham Labor Committee, Sorina Donisa, AmCham Executive Director Letitia Pupazeanu and AmCham Advocacy Lead Ioana Rotileanu.
