Today we met with Romania's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, to exchange views on key issues on the U.S.-Romania agenda, share details about AmCham's past and upcoming programs to strengthen the economic cooperation between the U.S. and Romania and to learn about the Minister's priorities and how AmCham Romania's business community can work with the Ministry to achieve mutually beneficial goals.
Today's discussion focused on two major foreign policy areas:
AmCham reaffirmed our community's commitment to supporting the accession process, briefly presented our involvement with the OECD evaluation mission over the past few years, and welcomed State Secretary Luca Niculescu's updates on recent developments.
AmCham presented key planned engagements with decision-makers in Washington, D.C. this fall, and offered our support on economy-related topics on the bilateral agenda. We also exchanged views with the Minister and her team on how to increase Romanian investment in America. We presented some recent success stories of Romanian companies entering the U.S. market as a result of AmCham business missions to the United States.
Minister Oana Țoiu shared with AmCham representatives her perspective on current foreign policy issues, including Romania's positioning on EU files, Romania's engagements with its neighbourhood, attracting FDI and promoting Romanian entrepreneurship abroad.
AmCham was represented by Members of the Board of Directors - Daniela Nemoianu, Georgiana Cosoveanu, Ionut Sas, and Nicoleta Forfota, and by Letitia Pupazeanu, Executive Director, and Manuel-Iulian Cazac, U.S. Relations Manager.
