Vodafone Breaks Another Data Traffic Record with its Second Free Internet Experience All Over Romania

by Vodafone February 19, 2016

Vodafone breaks another data traffic record with its second free internet experience available anywhere in Romania, by means of its superior Supernet 4G . On Saturday and Sunday (February 13-14, 2016), all Vodafone customers - prepaid, postpaid and enterprise, including other mobile telephony users in Romania, were able to navigate for free on the internet, all over the country, without any limitations.

The second free internet experience in Romania brought a record level of traffic, namely 36% higher than the previous weekend (February 6-7, 2016), respectively 43% higher than last Supernet 4G weekend (September 12-13, 2015). The 4G peak data traffic also registered a significant growth, namely 23% higher compared to previous weekend (February 6-7, 2016) and 66% as to the first Supernet 4G Weekend (September 12-13, 2015).

Compared to the similar Valentine’s Day weekend, last year (February 14-15, 2015), the level of traffic reported this weekend (February 13-14, 2016) was three times higher, respectively the 4G traffic was more than seven times higher.

While users throughout the entire country have enjoyed the free unlimited Internet experience, the leading counties in terms of data traffic consumption over the week-end were Bucharest- Ilfov, Prahova, Constanta, Timis, Brasov, Dambovita, Arges and Iasi. The peak hour in terms of data consumption was registered between between 21:01 and 21:10, on Saturday (February 13, 2016), while the hour with the highest number of connected users was at 18:00, on Sunday (February 14, 2016) . The data consumption this weekend was split between video streaming, followed by browsing and social media. The consumption was evenly distributed among the Vodafone users this week-end, each of them contributing to the data traffic growth.
