Projects Where We Need Your Support
The Need and Purpose of These Projects – Why We Do This
Unfortunately, the incidence of oncological diseases continues to rise, which requires us to continuously adapt our infrastructure in order to respond effectively to all patients in need of oncology medical services. This increase in the number of cancer patients has led us to continuously expand our medical team. While in 2005 we started with only 3 oncologists, today we have a complex team consisting of 28 oncologists and 31 physicians from other related medical specialties, which creates the need for new spaces such as medical offices, treatment rooms, inpatient wards, and waiting areas adapted to the current activity volume.
In addition, both locally and nationally, we are facing a significant shortage of Palliative Care services relative to the needs of patients suffering from severe or terminal illnesses. The Palliative Care Department (20 beds) is the largest in the western region of the country and, unfortunately, the only one in Timișoara capable of providing this type of care for oncology patients. This situation constantly generates a gap between demand and existing capacity, as the number of patients requiring care exceeds the available beds.
Another issue of regional importance is access to oncology services close to patients’ homes. For example, internal statistics show that 15–20% of the patients treated in our hospital come from Caraș-Severin County. In response to this need, we aim to facilitate access to medical services by building a new hospital in the city of Reșița, the capital of Caraș-Severin County.
The process of obtaining all construction permits is currently in an advanced stage, which will allow construction works to begin in the near future.
In 2025 we provided medical services to 10,392 oncology patients, of whom 4,431 were new cases.

About Us
We provide oncology medical services "There is life after cancer!"
Starting from the conviction of our founding members that access to medical services should be ensured for everyone, regardless of each individual’s financial or social situation, from the very beginning we envisioned the development of a medical institution that combines the advantages of a European-standard medical approach with the broad accessibility offered by the public healthcare system. We are a non-governmental organization founded in 2005 with the purpose of supporting any activity aimed at helping oncology patients.
Our main field of activity consists of the integrated oncology medical services that we provide free of charge to individuals insured within the public healthcare system. Over more than twenty years of activity, we have managed to build a medical center consisting of a main building – the OncoHelp Oncology Center – and a complex of interconnected buildings that host: the OncoHelp Radiotherapy Laboratory (5 bunkers), the OncoHelp Radiotherapy Outpatient Clinic (a 4-level building), and the Clinical Trials Center. The scale and complexity of the medical services we provide are indicators of our activity volume, and in 2025 statistics ranked us first compared to other oncology institutions in the country.
Funds collected through Donations and Sponsorships represent an additional mechanism through which we are able to further develop oncology medical services and the hospital infrastructure, with the goal of providing real support for cancer patients.
OncoHelp Oncology Center: 192 beds, including: 131 inpatient beds, 56 day-care hospitalization beds, 5 PACU beds (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) - Departments: Oncology, Palliative Care, Hematology; Units: Radiotherapy, Upper and Lower Digestive Endoscopy, Medical Imaging (CT, MRI); Medical Offices: Medical Genetics, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, ENT, Gynecology, Clinical Psychology, and Home Care Services.
OncoHelp Radiotherapy Laboratory: 4 Varian linear accelerators for conventional and stereotactic radiotherapy, 1 brachytherapy system. An accommodation facility offering 48 hotel-style rooms with full board, provided free of charge to patients coming from other regions during their treatment.
