VLP has advised Econergy International Limited, a leading renewable energy developer and operator, on the acquisition of Nofar Energy’s equity interest and shareholder loans in Ratesti Solar SRL, the company operating one of Romania’s largest solar power plants.

The transaction, valued at EUR 45.6 million, remains subject to regulatory approvals, with VLP continuing to assist Econergy during the approval and closing stages. Following completion of the transaction, Econergy will hold 100% ownership of the project company and assume control of the shareholder loan previously provided by Nofar Energy

Located in Argeș County, the Ratesti Solar Park is a landmark renewable energy project in Romania. Following the acquisition, Econergy plans to continue investing in the project’s further development, including through the implementation of energy storage systems.

VLP provided comprehensive legal assistance to Econergy throughout all stages of the transaction, covering structuring, negotiation of transaction documents, as well as regulatory and corporate matters.

The VLP team advising Econergy included Loredana Vlasceanu, Partner, Dan Oltean, Counsel and Radu Ilca, Associate.

We are proud to have supported Econergy once again on a landmark transaction that strengthens its position in Romania’s renewable energy sector. Econergy has been a long-standing client of our firm, and this deal showcases not only our strong relationship, but also our ongoing commitment to helping them achieve their strategic goals in the region” said Loredana Vlasceanu, Partner at VLP.

This transaction further consolidates VLP’s leading expertise in the energy and infrastructure sectors, where the firm regularly advises international investors, developers, and financial institutions on complex cross-border acquisitions, financings, and regulatory matters in the renewable space.
