The Salvation Army Christmas Campaigns 2021 – Doing Good, Feels Good

by Armata Salvării România November 16, 2021

The Salvation Army ranked #2 as America’s 100 favorite charities 2021, according to The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Every year The Salvation Army assists people in need, around the world and even right here in Romania through projects for children’s education and homeless people. We are in need of volunteers and sponsors this Christmas season for our two campaigns; Angel Tree and Red Kettle Challenge.

The Red Kettle Challenge is that famous bell and red bucket to collect funds to help support local projects, you might recognize it in American holiday movies and in the Christmas song “Silver Bells”. This campaign runs from 26 November – 24 December, and we need corporate sponsors to take on the challenge to raise virtually or physically, create teams to raise 1000, 2000 or 4000 lei. You can find out more information in the supported flyers and documents. Also, we are seeking teams or individuals who would like to ring the bell in-person at malls and public spaces we have partnered with, sing carols and/or dance, and share Christmas cheer for 2-4 hours. Watch this video on YouTube to see the tradition in America, and it’s 3rd year here in Romania.

Also each Christmas our Angel Tree campaign. We identify children in need around cities we’re working in and find out their Christmas wishes, place them on a tree (physical or virtual) and look for sponsors to fulfill these children’s wishes and bring them back in time to deliver for Christmas. It only costs around 100-150 lei per child and it’s fun to go out and shop for these special “Angels” knowing you’re making their Christmas.
