The Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation continues the tradition of supporting and promoting Romanian culture and talent through the eleventh edition of the Royal Charitable Concert. Organized annually on October 25, the Royal Concert is one of the most longlasting and successful fundraising events in Romania. The funds raised from sponsorships and donations amounted to more than 1,300,000 euros, an investment made in Romania's artistic future.
On October the 25th, on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum, musicians from the new generation who enjoy international recognition, are reuniting: violinist Anna Tifu, pianist Mihai Diaconescu and conductor Constantin Adrian Grigore. The program of the Royal Concert celebrates 100 years of Romania through a cultural event.
Organized annually since 2008 by the Princess Margarita of Romania Foundation, the Royal Charitable Concert has traditionally taken place on 25 October, on the occasion of the anniversary of King Michael the I of Romania, founder of the Foundation with her Majesty Margareta, the Custodians of the Romanian Crown. Every edition of the concert brought to the scene of the Romanian Athenaeum the most valuable musicians of the moment along with big orchestras, in support of young talented Romanian artists. The events enjoyed a remarkable presence: over 800 guests, members of the Royal Families, members of the Diplomatic Corp, Romanian officials, cultural and business figures, sponsors and supporters of the Foundation, and a successful media coverage.
Among the companies that have made a substantial and sustainable contribution to this cultural project are BRD - Groupe Société Générale, Kaufland Romania, ISS Facility Services, Vodafone Romania and Groupe Renault. The funds raised from sponsorships and donations amounted to over € 1,300,000 and developed the national Young Talents program. More than 280 scholarships have been awarded to early-stage artists, who come from low-income families, and with the support of mentors and sustained promotion, they have achieved extraordinary performances at national and international level. Each edition of the event was broadcast live on TV and radio, in partnership with TVR and SRR. The event was covered by all national news channels, with an audiences exceeding 5,000,000 people per year and a media value of 250,000 EUR.
Young Talents is recognized today as the Best Art and Culture Program in Romania, awarded at the Civil Society Gala.
