Over 3,800 educators from Romania and Moldova have enhanced their skills at the Festivalul Digital Predau Viitor 2024 (Digital Festival "Teach the Future 2024"), Romania's largest online professional conference on modern educational practices. Organized by Asociația Techsoup, this free event addresses critical areas of professional development including pedagogy, digital citizenship, STEAM education, and AI skills.

The festival, held just before the 2024-2025 academic year, introduced a hybrid format combining live-streamed sessions from September 3-5 with asynchronous learning through September 14. This approach maximized professional development while emphasizing collaboration among educators.

Representing 2,170 schools and impacting over 422,000 students, participants engaged in sessions covering classroom management, digital literacy, and innovative STEAM programming. The event's broad reach included teachers from all regions of Romania, with 25% of schools represented from rural areas.

The curriculum addressed diverse topics, from providing learning feedback to students to meeting the needs of students with special requirements or from Roma backgrounds. It also explored digital citizenship, media literacy, and creative programming with Scratch, as well as building AI competences or effective classroom management.

The asynchronous portion includes over 23 exclusively-recorded sessions developed with over 20 nonprofit educational organizations and academic experts, allowing teachers to engage with material at their own pace.

As the new school year begins, the impact of this festival will be felt in classrooms across Romania and Moldova, potentially leading to a more dynamic and future-oriented learning experience for students.
