Ijdelea & Associates successfully advised Black Sea Oil & Gas SA (BSOG), owned by global investment powerhouse The Carlyle Group, in relation to the securing of a EUR 175 million syndicated credit facility from a group of national and international financial institutions.

The transaction marks a strategic financing milestone, expected to be the largest credit facility contracted on the Romanian market in 2024, and further reflects the growing complexity and scale of oil & gas-related financing deals in Romania and the wider region.

Ijdelea & Associates’ mandate included the structuring, negotiation, and implementation of the financing, with a multidisciplinary team led by Managing Partner Oana Ijdelea and Partner Siranus Hahamian, and including Senior Associate Andreea Tudor and Associate Robert Niță. The lenders’ syndicate was advised by Popovici Nițu Stoica & Asociații (PNSA), with the legal team coordinated by Bogdan C. Stoica and including Ioana Lăzar and Crina Stan.

The credit facility provides BSOG with the financial resources to continue advancing its strategic operations in Romania’s offshore energy sector. This project is aligned with national energy security objectives and supports the development of energy infrastructure in the region.

This mandate consolidates Ijdelea & Associates’ established track record in high-value corporate and project finance transactions, particularly in regulated sectors such as oil & gas and energy infrastructure.

Ijdelea & Associates remains committed to providing forward-looking legal solutions that enable clients to successfully navigate and structure complex financial undertakings that are critical to Romania’s energy future.
