Global law firm Dentons has advised UniCredit as sole global coordinator, mandated lead arranger and bookrunner, together with a group of lenders and including Raiffeisen Bank International AG, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, United Bulgarian Bank and Eurobank Bulgaria on a major renewable energy financing deal with SUNOTEC and Solaris Energy.
The financing will be used to develop a largescale solar plant with a total capacity of 171.5 MW as well as a battery storage portfolio of 479.4 MWh in Bulgaria. Together these assets create one of Bulgaria’s largest and most advanced renewable plus storage clusters.
The transaction confirms Dentons’ market-leading position in Bulgarian solar and BESS development financing, having worked on a number of similar transactions over the last few years.
