Asociatia BookLand has launched Întâlniri Meseriașe, a campaign supporting the development of BookLand Campus, Romania’s first rural, pre-university professional education campus. The campaign brings together professionals, public figures, creators and education advocates who have chosen to support BookLand’s mission: improving access to quality education for children in rural communities and preparing future generations for meaningful participation in the labor market.
Education as a Strategic Investment
Romania continues to face persistent gaps between education outcomes and labor market needs, particularly in rural and underserved areas. BookLand Association addresses this challenge through long-term, structural solutions focused on educational infrastructure, relevance, and inclusion. The BookLand Professional Campus, currently under development in Vulturești (Argeș County), is designed as a modern dual-education ecosystem where students benefit from both academic learning and practical professional training aligned with real economic demand. Students enrolled in the Campus benefit from free access to education, transportation, meals, learning materials, school uniforms, and professional scholarships, removing systemic barriers that disproportionately affect rural youth.
Through Întâlniri Meseriașe, BookLand seeks to increase public awareness and mobilize support, positioning education as a strategic investment in Romania’s human capital and economic resilience.
Leadership, Credibility and Public Engagement
A central element of the campaign is the involvement of BookLand Ambassadors: respected professionals and public figures who contribute their expertise, visibility and time to support the cause of the Campus and its construction. Their participation reinforces the campaign core message: that education, skills development, and mentorship are shared responsibilities between civil society, the business sector, and local communities.
The ambassadors represent a diverse range of fields, including consulting, culture, media, sports and education, and are actively engaged in public conversations around leadership, work, creativity, and career development. Among those who have joined the campaign are Doru Șupeală, Felix Tătaru, Alexandru Stermin, Charlie Ottley, Damian Anfile, Felicia Filip, Tiberiu Soare, Gelu Duminică, Doina Ruști, Mihaela Tatu, Luiza Zan, Monica Davidescu, and Emil Rengle. As part of the initiative, each ambassador has committed to offering dedicated one-to-one time for a mentoring-style conversation with a supporter of the BookLand mission. This symbolic gesture underlines the value of dialogue, role models, and knowledge transfer in shaping future generations.
Their involvement strengthens the connection between education and the realities of today’s economy, while helping position BookLand Campus as a forward-looking response to workforce and skills challenges.
The campaign is active until the 28th of February: https://book-land.ro/intalniri-meseriase/
