The AmCham Board of Directors has recently appointed two Ex-Officio Board members to represent the voice and business agenda of SMEs and entrepreneurs.
With this initiative, the AmCham Romania Board acknowledges the important role that the SMEs and entrepreneurs have in the local economy and is taking this first step towards making AmCham an active enabler of consolidating this community and its contribution to Romania’s economic development and growth.
The AmCham By-laws allow for the Board of Directors to appoint Ex-Officio Board Members to complement the expertise and representation of the organization’s leadership (Section III, Article 36, Paragraph 3 (2). The roles and responsibilities of an Ex-Officio Board member are the ones that the AmCham By-laws provide for regular Board Members, except for voting rights.
According to the AGM decisions on March 22, 2017, beginning with 2018 the AmCham Board of Directors is to be extended to 13 members, with two seats automatically allocated to representatives of members companies in the Business category.
For the 2017- 2018 mandate, the two ex-officio Board Members appointed by the Board following a Call for Nominations and selection process, are Călin Lupşan, General Manager - Intelligence Act, and Dan Mocanu, Business Owner, Leap Forward.
Călin’s work experience includes:
- Founder of Intelligence, a Romanian IT Company with a 60+ dedicated engineers that designs, builds and delivers best in class advanced analytics and digital experiences to help organizations achieve sustainable impact.
- Co-Founder of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Chapter in Romania at the beginning of 2016
- Director, Business Development EMEA, Stefanini Tech Team Global
As an entrepreneur, Dan:
- Founded Leap Forwards, a design company dedicated to bringing innovation thinking in strategy, product design and service through Blue Ocean Strategy
- Co-founded TimePal Romania, a first concierge service offered to corporate professionals in large office buildings.
As Călin and Dan craft an action plan focused on building a relevant agenda for SMEs and entrepreneurs they will rely on a dynamic dialogue and interaction with AmCham members in the Business category in particular.
