On July 16, AmCham Romania had a first consultative meeting with the Minister of Education and Research, Daniel David, an opportunity to share members' priorities, concerns, and recommendations regarding the state of our country’s education and research systems.
AmCham's representatives presented the conclusions and recommendations of the AmCham report on the Economic Impact of School Dropout in Romania. They advocated for aligning the curriculum of schools and universities with the needs in the labor market, as well as allocating increased efforts to the development of the country’s R&D.
Minister David shared the main priorities for his mandate and upcoming, immediate action points, with a strong focus on reforming the education system and reducing the school dropout and functional illiteracy rates in Romania.
We appreciated the open, hands-on dialogue with Minister David and look forward to continuing dialogue and collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research.
On the AmCham side, our key messages were shared by Board Member Elisabeta Moraru, Chair of the AmCham Education Platform and Deputy Chair Carmen Lica, joined by AmCham Vice-President Cerasela Baiculescu, Board Members Nicoleta Forfota and Claudia Sofianu, members of the Executive Team - Executive Director Letitia Pupazeanu, Advocacy Director Ana-Maria Ciobanu and Advocacy Lead Ioana Rotileanu.
