Xerox Romania announces the signing of a new contract with Emporiki Bank Romania, member of Credit Agricole Group, for document and printing infrastructure management services. The contract was signed in November 2010 for a period of 4 years, with an overall value exceeding half a million USD.

“After conducting an audit, without any financial involvement from our client, we managed to assess the situation of the hardware infrastructure and to propose a solution for its improvement”, said Razvan Botezatu, Services & Strategic Accounts Director Xerox Romania. “We installed 150 Xerox state-of-the-art devices, replacing the existing over 50 models of printers with only 6 types of multifunctional equipments. Also, we reduced the number of types of consumables, from 36 to only 3 types, while we implemented a pro-active monitoring solution for all equipment fleet consumables”, Botezatu also said.
The bank needed to know how much money was spent on printing and to keep a close report on costs, allowing Xerox to install a cost control solution for the printing activity in the office environment. Xerox became the main provider for everything that meant printing device, consumables or technical support, replacing the previous 5 providers.

“We managed to reduce office devices related costs by 25% from the first day of contract, along with improving service costs and end users’ satisfaction. Following the country-wide implementation of all new equipment, our people in the branches got used to the new equipments and procedures seamlessly, and this was also very important for us”, said Pierre Martin, CEO of Emporiki Bank. “Xerox also assisted us with another important goal – that of becoming a Green Bank, just like our mother company. Thus, with the help of the new equipments we use more the electronic documents by: scanning, copying, e-mailing and e-mail faxing, reducing the quantity of print documents to the minimum required, in line with the guidelines of the GreenBanking vision, a project initiated by Credit Agricole that involves all employees in acting together towards saving and preserving the environment”, concluded Mr. Martin.

Xerox Romania optimized the office printing environment for all Emporiki Bank branches in the country: Bucharest, Alexandria, Arad, Bacau, Brasov, Buzau, Constanta, Craiova, Galati, Giurgiu, Iasi, Oradea, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Sibiu and Timisoara. Emporiki Bank expects a 30% cost reduction for the entire duration of the contract.
