Details in the below press release.

The Romanian-American University and DADA Gallery launch the exhibition "URA și...DADA," supporting art in education

The Romanian-American University, in partnership with DADA Gallery, launched on Thursday, June 29, the art exhibition "URA si...DADA," (RAU and…DADA),  a unique project in the educational and cultural landscape of Romania. The event presents to the viewers the posters of exhibitions by renowned Romanian artists, which have been showcased in Romania, the United States, France, Germany, and Israel, from the interwar period to the present day.

The exhibition reflects the artistic journey over time of significant personalities, marked by creative effervescence at national level. It showcases famous names that have contributed to the development of the Romanian and the universal culture. Over 35 exhibition posters and event materials centred around great Romanian artists are displayed, presenting their works primarily from the modern period. Among the included titans in the exhibition are Constantin Brâncuși, Victor Brauner, Marcel Iancu, Geo Bogza, and Tristan Tzara.

This initiative, an absolute premiere, marks the beginning of the collaboration between the Romanian-American University and DADA Gallery with the aim of bringing together education and art, offering the new generations a journey into the educational and artistic universe through knowledge and creativity. Dedicated to both students and art enthusiasts, the exhibition is meant to bring color and convey emotion in a digital world where art represents a form of expression in the context of future education.

The exhibition features creations of impressive historical significance and memorable artistic components. The oldest presented poster is truly spectacular and extremely rare, dating back to 1914. It was created for the first Romanian documentary film produced by Casa Pathé about Ion Creangă, Mihai Eminescu, and Veronica Micle. The newest poster, from the period of 2020-2021, marks the retrospective exhibition of Victor Brauner at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris (MAM).

"At the Romanian-American University, we are committed to providing not only academic knowledge but also integrated educational experiences. Education should not and must not be limited to classrooms. We believe that art plays an essential role in the personal and professional development of young people. Through artistic projects, we offer young individuals the opportunity to connect with artworks in an interactive and personal manner. We aim to stimulate their curiosity, foster critical thinking, and develop their creative skills. By involving DADA Gallery, we are delighted to bring to the attention of the academic community and the general public posters representing exhibitions, by great Romanian artists. This is just one of many initiatives through which we, at the Romanian-American University, strive to bring art and education together to inspire young people and build a brighter future through integrated educational experiences," stated Costel Negricea, the Rector of the Romanian-American University.

"With this exhibition, we inaugurate a long-term collaboration. We are planning other exhibitions in partnership with the Romanian-American University, focusing on contemporary art and modern American artists. Additionally, we intend to open an art library, including works on art management," declared Cristinel Popa, the founder of DADA Gallery.

The exhibition will receive additions throughout the following months. It is open to the general public from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, from June 29 to August 4, then from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, from August 5 to September 1, and finally from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, starting from September 1.
