2011 was declared by the European Commission to be the European Year of Volunteering.
A flagship program celebrating this decision is the European Employee Volunteering Award, a competition taking place in 22 European countries. In March 2011, an European winner of the Award will be announced after an international Jury decides from all the national winners.
The European Employee Volunteering Award is a project administered by Business in the Community UK at European level, financed by the European Commission and implemented in Romania by the Association for Community Relations.
The companies or SME can nominate their employee volunteering projects that targeted employability issues of groups that are traditionally disadvantaged in finding a workplace.
The final date by which you can nominate your project is November 20 2010, 17.00. The national winners will be selected by an independent Jury of academia, media and volunteering experts .

What information is relevant for this award?
In order to give potential applicants from Romania a better chance at writing an appropriate application, we have decided to organize a technical assistance meeting to discuss questions and application ideas in the conceptual frame of EEVA that is new and different from other awards implemented so far in our country.
The workshop will be taking place on November 1 2010 in Bucharest. The workshop fee is 200 RON and it can be paid until October 27, the dead line for all workshop entries.
