What differentiate Best Employers companies
This year Aon Best Employers Study got together 37 companies, represented by 13.400 employees and 250 top managers in different areas such as pharma, IT, finance, agribusiness, retail, hospitality, media, automotive, medical services etc.
This year Study results show that the level of engagement remains constant with very light increase of 1% compared to previous year results. While the results at Average (the average results of all participants) show a score of 60% engaged employees, the Best Employers have an engagement level of 81%.

The biggest differences between Average and the average results of Best Employers are highlighted in the segment of highly engaged employees - 19% for Average and 40% for Best Employers and also in disengaged employees - 16% for Average and only 5% for Best Employers.

The Survey also shows the level of engagement for categories of employees by the company size: for companies with less than 250 employees the score is 71%, with a decrease to 63% for companies with 250 - 1.000 employees, and getting to 57% engagement level for companies with more than 1.000 employees.

The biggest gaps between Best Employers and Average employees perception covers the following areas analyzed by the study: Leadership: difference of 23% (77% vs 54%) when talking about the impact of the top management team on employees engagement; Retention: difference of 23% (71% vs 48%) on employees confidence that their organization retain the people needed to achieve business objectives.

Also relevant were the arias "Fairness of pay" - 67% of employees of Best Employers strongly agree that they are paid fairly for the effort that they put into the company, compared to 44% in Average. Regarding Benefits, 71% of Best Employers employees are satisfied with the level of benefits provided by the employer, compared to 49% for Average employees.
“Every yearly edition of the survey is celebrated by this event, which concentrates our work throughout the year, along with the companies participating in the survey.

We are glad to have our contribution to the rise of the awareness that engagement is important in a company, that every industry, every company in the industry has its own challenges and that there is no magic recipe valid for all companies. My message to companies is "if you do not know how big the lack of engagement in your company is, you should. Find out what employees think about you, as employer. Only then you can engage them, you can make them more responsible in actions, instead of waiting for something from the company”says Virginia Pauna, Project Leader Best Employers Romania during the Gala.

Best Employer Study criteria
Best Employer Study analyzes the level of engagement based on three main dimensions – SAY, STAY and STRIVE – which may be influenced by employees satisfaction on certain categories such as empowerment, autonomy, resources, learning and development opportunities, work/ life balance, work infrastructure, collaboration with colleagues, performance management, employer reputation, the way that a company treats its employees, rewards and recognition.

“SAY” – engaged employee speaks positively about company among co-workers, clients and his/ her friends - Best Employers scored this year 87%, while Average scored 70%.
“STAY” – engaged employee associates his/ her future with the company– this year Average scored 62% while the Best Employers reached 77%.
