Why is redirecting 3.5% so important?

In many communities, basic needs are so overwhelming that education becomes secondary. Many children drop out of school to help support their families, which only deepens the cycle of poverty. United Way Romania intervenes through integrated programs that support children, parents, and teachers by providing:

Educational support: homework help, literacy sessions, and non-formal learning activities.

Material support: school supplies, a daily warm meal, clothing, and footwear.

Parental counseling: guidance to help parents understand the importance of education in their children’s development.

Teacher training: practical tools and teaching methods tailored to disadvantaged communities.

How can you contribute?

Redirecting 3.5% means deciding how a portion of the tax you have already paid is used. If you do not choose to redirect it, the amount remains with the state budget.
