POPESCU & ASOCIATII was designated Eastern Europe Firm of the Year. The trophy was received within the 13th edition of Women in Business Law EMEA Awards 2023 which took place in London on June 28.  

For the title Eastern Europe Firm of the Year, POPESCU & ASOCIATII has competed alongside six other companies with important activity in the region. During Gala Awards, over 70 trophies were offered, the law firm being also nominated in the category of Women in Business Law National Firm of the Year.    

POPESCU & ASOCIATII is the only Romanian law firm on the podium, the winners being decided by an adjudication panel composed of senior editorial staff following an extensive research process. Among the principal evaluation criteria are innovation, excellence and the ability of companies to support the development of women in the legal profession and to provide work-life programmes to enable them to pursue legal careers.

The annual awards aim also to encourage and recognize complex and innovative projects that promote efforts both at company and individual level, with special emphasis on the work of women in law and the leading women practitioners from over 30 practice areas. Also, through the criteria that make the difference, in designation the winners, are the ratio of women and men lawyers at all levels of seniority, the retention of women lawyers at partner level and the encouragement of diversity and equal opportunities initiatives.   

During the rigorous analysis process, the jury evaluated both the contributions of top women lawyers for their practice areas and the collective efforts of law firms to divide equally the activity and to continuously contribute to the development of the company and to the achievement of the proposed objectives. Therefore, the title of Eastern Europe Firm of the Year, along with this year's nominations, honours and empowers at the same time the entire POPESCU & ASOCIATII team, all the victories and awards so far being the merit of each lawyer within the company.
