Vanessa Taylor graduated in 2009 from the University of South Florida with a major in Theatre Performance and a minor in Sociology. During this time she worked as a peer mentor for the Honors College, welcoming and advising new students to the university. She has since been a member of Izumi Ashizawa Performance, devising works that have toured to fringe festivals and singular performances around the country as well as to Peru in July of 2012. With this company she has also performed at the Kennedy Center's Millenium Stage, and achieved the Director's Choise award in the 2011 D.C. Fringe Festival. She recently completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Sky House Yoga. Now she is looking forward to integrating her work with yoga and mindfulness with the advising of young students.
Claudia Rosales graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Performance from the University of Maryland in 2013 and had been working as a teaching artist in DC and NYC. Her work helps students cultivate their distinct and personal voices both as artists and people. As a member of Izumi Ashizawa Performance she achieved the Director's Choice award in the 2011 D.C. Fringe Festival, performed at the Kennedy Center Millenium Stage and toured throughout Peru July 2012. She studies historical movement and sword play with master fight director Brad Waller and assisted him at the Nordic Fight Conference in Sweden in July 2013. She is also a member of the Art of Combat fight society. A recent certified Yoga teacher, Claudia is excited to expand her movement and theatrical work onto the realm of mindfulness.
