The International Youth Summit of Transylvania (IYST) is structured similarly to the “Challenge 10/21” program.

The conference is scheduled between the 17th to the 22nd of March 2019 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in the heart of Transylvania. The summit comprises three days of debate in an innovative and unique style This first edition of the the Summit will have the theme "Change the World of Tomorrow by Discussing the World of Today”. During the conference, we will discuss three topics with global relevance. The topics will be “The Right to Education”, “The Rise of Extreme Nationalism” and “Education for Diversity”.

The “Challenge 10/21” program is aimed to continue during the next decade, covering 10 major themes, one each year, addressing global issues of the 21st century. We look to inspire the delegations to propose viable solutions for each theme, which are going to be implemented, with the help of a manifesto created at the end of each edition, in their schools, cities and countries to shape our future and change our world for the better.

Transylvania College - The International School in Cluj-Napoca is a force of change in the Romanian education and part of the elite educational organizations in the world. Accredited with the highest scores both nationally and internationally, Transylvania College is recognized as an innovative school and a model for the Romanian and British education. Overseven hundred students from thirty-four nations on six continents are actively involved in national and international educational programs, having the opportunity to work in a unique, multicultural learning environment.

Through the forum of debate in the International Youth Summit of Transylvania (IYST), we aim to bring to students’ awareness, the importance and benefits of taking ownership of challenges while finding ways to use their talents to find solutions. By coming together we hope to empower students to find ways to improve their schools, homes and communities thus making the world a better place.
