Dentons awarded for Deal of the Year in CEE, Romania and Slovakia

Dentons was awarded Deal of the Year in Romania and the headline Deal of the Year in Central and Eastern Europe for advising Hidroelectrica on its €1.9 billion initial public offering and listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.  The landmark transaction was the largest IPO in Europe in 2023.  Dentons’ cross-border, multi-disciplinary team on the deal was led by partners Loredana Chitu (Bucharest) as well as Cameron Half and Nikolas Colbridge (London), with support from Alin Roca, Claudiu Munteanu-Jipescu, Elena Vlasceanu, Angelica Pintilie, Alin Dimache, Andrei Marinescu, Argentina Rafail, Cristina Marcu, Andreea Predescu, Mihut Radu, Bogdan Papandopol, Luiza Onofrei, Isabela Gheorghe, Diana Ceparu, Bianca Isache, Oana Voda, Simona Marin, Maria Tomescu, Alin Serea, Liviu Togan, Andrei Orbesteanu, Simona Moisa, Raul Mihu, and Iulia Titirisca in Bucharest, as well as Pichrotanak Bunthan, Alex Brady, Emer Lynch, Cheryl Yip, and Sarah Abi Raad in London and Linda Pfatteicher in San Francisco.

The Firm also received the award for Deal of the Year in Slovakia for its work advising Plan B Investments on the €250 million acquisition of Trei Real Estate’s Czech and Slovak portfolio, which includes Billa and Penny Market supermarkets as well as retail parks across the two countries.  Prague-based partners Jiří Stržínek and Monika Kajanková led the cross-border team, supported by Tomáš Kvapil, David Šutko, Jan Blažek, and Jan Sedlák in Prague, as well as Miroslav Kapinaj, Dávid Stanek, Martin Mendel, Tatiana Jevčáková, Peter Panek, Alen Gondek, Norbert Vizvári, and Natália Hangáčová in Bratislava.
