Let's support our children's progress in digital and alternative education

by Fundatia Progress March 12, 2026

As you may already know, Progress Foundation has been making an impact in Romania since 1996. Over the past 15 years, our organization has grown exponentially, focusing on the national network of public libraries - key community hubs where we bring to life inspiring initiatives such as free coding courses for kids - CODE Kids, and empowerment clubs for girls - Fearless Girls Network.

Through these main programs, we empower children to dream big and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Your support can make all the difference!

If you are a natural person, you can easily redirect 3.5% out of your tax income which otherwise would go to the state budget.

With just one signature online, this amount goes to the social cause you believe in, all in just 2 minutes! With no cost at all, you can offer a lot in return!

WHY REDIRECT to Progress Foundation for children’s education in rural areas?

  • There have been over 14,000 kids who have gone through our free coding courses in CODE Kids program since the beginning, in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
  • We had 289 active CODE Kids Clubs in 2025 only, in 252 cities and we have donated in time over 140 computers and laptops to CODE Kids Clubs.
  • There have been over 2400 girls in rural and small urban areas educated, empowered, and supported for their intellectual development, helped to better face the challenges of the future, through the Fearless Girls Network program.
  • In 2025 only, over 360 (pre)adolescent girls in 18 counties, 35 cities in Romania, have been trained to be better prepared to deal with situations of verbal and physical violence, being stronger by gaining knowledge and social skills, developing the confidence to express their opinions and participate in community decisions on issues that concern them.

Awards, recognition and impact

CODE Kids was awarded 3rd Prize at the Civil Society Gala 2023, Education Section and it has become the largest STEM initiative at the national level, a good practice example. The social impact of the CODE Kids project (Social Return on Investment – SROI) was calculated for 2024 to be 1:9.04, meaning that for every LEU invested in the project, the social value created in the community is of 9 LEI.

The international Jury of the Romanian PR Awards 2023 nominated our Fearless Girls Network project at its XXIst Edition, we got a Gold Recognition for „Stronger women” category at Romanian Community Index 2024, as well as IIIrd Prize for Civic Behavior and Public Participation and Social Impact Award at the Civil Society Gala 2024.

The social impact of the project (SROI) was calculated for 2023 to be 1:2.85, meaning that for evey LEU invested in the project, the social value created in the community is of almost 3 LEI.

Also, at the end of 2025, we have been awarded an Honorary Certificate of Recognition for Courage and Civic Spirit in Service of Education and the Community by the Royal Family of Romania.

Let’s get together and be Dreamers and Doers United!

We firmly believe in the unity and coherence of the education process, this is why we aim each year to reach even more communities in Romania.

Through the constant efforts of our team, together with our librarians, volunteers, partners and sponsors, we manage to contribute to the digital and alternative education of children and to the empowerment of the teenage girls in vulnerable communities.
