GTS Telecom enters the Disaster Recovery as a Service market, using Veritas Net Backup solution

by GTS Telecom October 30, 2018

GTS Telecom, one of the longest-serving Romanian companies on the infrastructure-based telecommunications services market, launches a complete range of Disaster Recovery services as a Service (DRaaS). Backup as Service solution, part of this new service range, uses Veritas Net Backup software, and ensures the protection and predictable recovery of data in case of disaster, applicable both on physical or virtual server levels.

GTS Telecom’s DRaaS solutions are created to protect and ensure permanent availability of the companies’ critical data through complete storage services and data recovery in case of disaster and ensure the business’ continuity. Backup as Service features an easy to use interface, which permits backup, restauration and archiving for any kind of operation system, data base or applications. This way, the companies can manage and protect their data from the moment it is created to the moment they choose to delete it, automatically adapting the supplementary stocking capacity necessity.

“We extended our experience in Disaster Recovery solutions, developed for our customers, and we invested in a complex platform, which can cover all the real-life situations which they confront with. Our services are supported by the two locations with data centres and offer scalable and easy to use technologies. Now, we can cover any scenario of Disaster Recovery addressed by the client, copying the data from any source in which they are stored to various destinations, where they can be restored, with any type of connectivity in case of a disaster and operational continuity on the restored solution”, stated Răzvan Stoica, General Manager GTS Telecom.

“Our clients benefit also from the GTS developing engineers’ expertise, that offers assistance through the entire process of implementation of the Business Continuity solution: from the analysis to the personalised design, to the implementation, testing and maintenance” said Răzvan Stoica.

The new Backup as a Service developed by GTS Telecom can be accessed based on a monthly subscription, with a tax model based on the consumption (pay-per use), offering the flexibility and scalability which the IT department need, in order to satisfy the growing demands of the organisations they work for. So, companies do not have to invest in software and hardware solutions, as the investment allocated for the platform development, as well as management and update, are ensured by GTS.

Backup as a Service developed by GTS Telecom uses the NetBackup software solution developed by Veritas Technologies, worldwide leader on the data protection software market (Source: Gartner Inc., Market Share: Enterprise Infrastructure Software, Worldwide, 2017, May 2018), with more than 30 years of experience in this field.

“GTS’s technical professional team developed, based on the Veritas NetBackup solution, a highly qualified BackUp as a Service, taking into consideration the benefits offered to its customers, adapted to the specific and requirements of the Romanian market. The launching of the new Backup as a Service marks an important moment within the strategic partnership between GTS Telecom and Veritas Technologies. We are convinced that together we will improve the performance and trust standards of the data protection services available on the local market” stated Vasile Aniculaesei, Territory Manager Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Romania for Veritas Technologies.

GTS Telecom, member of Deutsche Telekom group, celebrates this year 25 years of activity on the local market, being a trusted partner for medium and large companies from Romania and international. To ensure a continuous connectivity to their customers, the company offers a complete range of infrastructure base telecommunications services, supported by two data centres, based in Bucharest and Cluj, two Cloud platforms and a top communications network.
