In the Ballroom „Le Diplomat” of the Athénée Palace Hilton Hotel, the law firm STOICA & Asociaţii celebrated 23 years since its establishment by organizing a reception which was attended by more than 150 guests besides all team members of the law office.

With this occasion, the „Excellence award for the entire legal carrier” went to Acad. Prof. Univ. Corneliu Bîrsan PhD., a distinguished personality that contributed to preserving and enriching the traditions of Romanian civil law, but also to the creation and development of human rights discipline. The entire legal community has the duty to recognise this contribution isespecially since Professor Corneliu Bîrsan celebrated 75 years in the Centenary Year.

“Many of the alumni of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest owe to Professor Corneliu Bîrsan a good understanding of the notions, concepts and theories of civil law, a step necessary for the formation of any lawyer. Over the decades, the teacher vocation has been confirmed by his didactic passion, through the training talent, through rigor and exigency, all duplicated by his spirit of openness, his willingness to dialogue and his convivial attitude, a sign of goodness. A devoted servant of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest, Professor Corneliu Bîrsan proved his virtue as an institutional reformer during the period when, for several mandates, he was a dean. In this position, he reconfigured the curricular structure of the legal studies, structure taken over by other law faculties in the country. At the same time, the academic staff was substantially renewed, many of the teachers performing today in different disciplines being selected and guided at the beginning of their career by Professor Corneliu Bîrsan. Moreover, his steadfast adherence to European values ​​allowed him to integrate the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest into the most important European and international academic networks. The European Law College is the institution founded and supported by the professor, for which many graduates have been grateful for the past decades”, said Valeriu Stoica, Founding Partner, STOICA & Asociaţii.

The „Award for the encouragement of the cultural and art activity” went to the young instrumentalist Romulus Cipariu as "an encouragement and recognition of the perseverance with which he cultivated his passion and talent for music and for the seriousness and professionalism with which he approves each new project”, declared Cristiana I. The granting of these awards is part of the efforts of STOICA & Asociaţii since 2007 to recognize Romanian personalities and to support young contemporary artists.
