Hamilton Central Europe, Romania's only manufacturer of microlitre syringes and high precision instruments, today marked its first ten years of activity with its partners. The Timis-based company, one of the leading biotechnology companies, has grown steadily over the years, now employing over 350 people, with an extensive product portfolio and major investments over the years or underway.

We set out to innovate and carry forward the story of the microliter syringe, which the founder of this company, Clark Hamilton, invented in 1946 in his modest California garage." said Ciprian Ractei, General Manager Hamilton Central Europe.
Hamilton Central Europe started its activity in Romania in 2013, with 10 employees and taking over the production of microlitre syringes from Switzerland in Romania. The company now employs more than 350 people and its product portfolio includes microlitre syringes, consumables for medical equipment in intensive care units, dosing pumps, pipetting modules and accessories for analytical and research laboratories.
The opening of the permanent headquarters in Giarmata, Timis, in 2015, involved a significant investment in office and production space and marked the beginning of important steps in the company's evolution:
"Now, after 10 years, we are a team of more than 350 colleagues, we have surpassed the turnover of 50 million euros in 2022 and we have invested more than 32 million euros in infrastructure alone. And we're not stopping there. We continue to invest, to innovate, to produce excellence, together with our partners, the community we are part of and the people who believe that their passion can contribute to our mission of improving people's lives." said Ciprian Ractei, Managing Director of Hamilton Central Europe.
Investments announced last year by the swiss based Hamilton for the Romanian plant, Hamilton Central Europe, have led to a major expansion of the building in Giarmata, Timis, which will be completed by the end of this year. The investment amounts to more than €30 million.
Major investment plans for the coming years include a new strategic direction to expand the portfolio of laboratory equipment and devices.
" Hamilton will become a major producer of General Lab Devices. Hamilton Central Europe proofed over the past years that they are more than capable to be key in this strategy: We will significantly expand our product portfolio in the coming years and therefore design, produce and manage new lab devices out of Romania. The investment into the new facility was the necessary prerequisite for this, and further investments into new products will follow. " said Martin Frey, CEO of Hamilton, also present at the anniversary event.
The products manufactured by Hamilton Central Europe in Timis, Romania, are used in Europe, Asia and South Africa, especially in scientific research laboratories, analytical applications laboratories.
As an OEM partner, Hamilton offers the possibility to integrate syringes and pumps and customize liquid handling platforms or design a complete system for workflow automation.
