The anchor event of AmCham Romania’s outreach to Timișoara was the Healthcare Investments in Timișoara - Collaborative Strategies in the Medical Sector. The key note remarks and panel discussion that followed offered valuable insights to our large audience of members of the local business community and administration:
Public-Private Collaboration: Georgiana Coșoveanu, AmCham Romania Board Member, set the stage by emphasizing the importance of strategic collaboration to drive healthcare forward in Romania. We’re proud to lead dialogues that support patient-centric and value-based healthcare.
Bilateral Partnerships: Kathleen A. Kavalec, U.S. Ambassador to Romania, highlighted the critical role of U.S.-Romania collaboration in transforming healthcare infrastructure and innovation. Healthcare is not just a cost—it's an investment in quality of life.
Timișoara’s Healthcare Vision: Mayor Dominic Fritz presented Timișoara's ambitious plans to enhance healthcare infrastructure, with exciting projects like the new Municipal Hospital and Oncological Institute.
The quest for the future of Timisoara, for its prosperity, is a quest for the quality of life in the city. The health dimension is an effervescent one in Timișoara, enhanced both by the construction of the new Municipal Hospital and the Oncological Institute, solid anchors for private investments. Timișoara aims to diversify its mix of present industries beyond the automotive sector which is over-represented, by attracting investments in production, R&D, and the medical sector. Timisoara is open to innovation, and this is a path that the City Hall is taking very seriously. It’s the one sector with real chances of rapid growth.
Strategic Private Investments: Panelists like Cristian Nacu (IFC), Mihai Marcu (MedLife), Dorel Săndesc (Pius Brînzeu Hospital), Octavian Crețu (Victor Babeș University), and Cristina Grigorescu (SofMedica) shared insights on healthcare innovation, infrastructure development, and the vital role of education and research in driving medical advancements in the region
