Between January 27–29, 2026, AmCham Romania led a delegation of Board members, senior executives, and leaders of U.S. companies active in Romania to Washington, D.C., as part of our annual U.S. - Romania Economic Relations agenda.
The visit aimed to promote Romania as a reliable economic partner, highlight the private sector’s perspective on the business environment, and advance dialogue on bilateral trade, investment, and transatlantic cooperation.
The delegation held an extensive series of meetings with U.S. policymakers, institutional partners, and thought leaders.
Day 1 focused on congressional and executive-branch outreach and included meetings with the offices of four U.S. Senators, discussions with the U.S. Department of State, and a policy dialogue with the Atlantic Council. The agenda also featured a visit to the Honeywell Technology Experience Center, offering insights into innovation and advanced technologies.
Day 2 continued with discussions centered on trade policy, economic security, and geopolitical priorities, through meetings with the Office of the United States Trade Representative, Hudson Institute, Heritage Foundation, congressional staff of the House Select Committee on China, and the Office of Congressman Michael Turner (R-Ohio). The delegation also met with representatives of the EU Delegation to the United States of America, reinforcing coordination on transatlantic economic issues.
As part of the official program, the delegation attended a reception hosted on January 28 by HE Andrei Muraru, Ambassador of Romania to the United States, at the Embassy of Romania in Washington, D.C.
The reception provided an important opportunity for delegation members to reconnect with key stakeholders and to share our business community’s messages on investment opportunities, competitiveness, and Romania’s role as a strategic economic partner for American companies in the Central and Eastern Europe. The event complemented the formal meetings agenda and supported broader engagement efforts during the visit.
