AmCham Meeting with Minister of Energy Bogdan Ivan

As part of our ongoing dialogue with members of the new Government, on July 30,  at AmCham Romania, we welcomed the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, for a strategic exchange on the Government’s energy agenda and AmCham’s priorities in this essential sector. He was joined by the President of the Romanian Digitalization Authority, Dragos-Cristian Vlad, and by the Minister Advisor, Dorin Pena.

Our dialogue focused on immediate policy actions, medium-term reforms, and long-term opportunities for Romania to strengthen its energy sector and investment attractiveness.

AmCham representatives presented the advocacy priorities of our Energy Committee and discussed the importance of:

  • Strengthening Romania's presence in Brussels, which would also boost our country's competitiveness
  • Concrete measures to help stimulate investments in the energy sector, particularly in the current fiscal context
  • Maximizing the absorption of EU funds
  • Enhancing corporate governance and advancing digitalization in state-owned entities
  • Coordinating state aid instruments in the energy field
  • Romania’s bid to host the AI Gigafactory

On the AmCham side, the delegation included Cerasela Baiculescu – Vice President, Chair of the Digital Economy Task Force; Nicoleta Forfota – Board Member, Chair of the Energy Task Force; Alexandru-Valeriu Binig – Deputy Chair of the Energy Task Force; Florin Sunel – AmCham member; Letitia Pupazeanu – Executive Director; Ioana Rotileanu – Advocacy Lead and Manuel-Iulian Cazac – U.S. Relations Manager.
