This morning AmCham Romania Members welcomed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Tánczos Barna to discuss the fiscal policy outlook.
AmCham President Vlad Boeriu set the scene for the discussion by presenting the results of the AmCham Tax Policy Survey, the annual assessment of members’ perception of the fiscal measures of the previous year and their impact on businesses, and on the satisfaction with the quality of communication between tax authorities and taxpayers.
Minister Tánczos commented on the findings and shared the Ministry of Finance's perspectives on what to expect regarding fiscal-budgetary policies and implementation going forward.
He assured the business community of the Ministry’s priority to improve predictability and transparency of the fiscal framework, including through changing the approach in adopting legislation, improving compliance through digitalization, clarification and simplification of the tax regime, and shifting the organizational culture of the tax authorities towards a taxpayer-centric focus.
Minister Tánczos confirmed the value of a constructive and ongoing policy-industry dialogue for adopting legislation and measures that best respond to the economic challenges companies are facing, caused both by internal imbalances and by the evolution of the external relations.
