AmCham Romania successfully wrapped up a four-day advocacy mission in Brussels, reinforcing the voice of the business community in key policy discussions. The delegation, consisting of 24 representatives of  AmCham Romania members, engaged with 10 EU stakeholders across four strategic streams: healthcare, digital, energy, and competition.

Key Meetings & Discussions March 19 - 20

• High-level discussions with MEPs Dan Nica, Vasile Dîncu, Virgil Popescu, Vlad Voiculescu, Stefan Mușoiu,

• EP Vice-President Victor Negrescu

• Representatives from the European Commission’s DG CNECT, DG ENER, and DG COMP.

• Experts at Romania’s Permanent Representation to the EU, tackling priority topics such as energy market liberalization, regulatory updates for competition policy, the AI Act, and critical healthcare legislation.

Advocacy Highlights

• Healthcare: Addressed the impact of EU pharmaceutical legislation and the PFAS ban on innovation and patient access.

• Energy: Emphasized investment in grids and regulatory adaptability.

• Digital: Discussed the AI Act and eIDAS framework.

• Competition: Advocated for the consistent application of EU competition rules across member states.

Before the delegation, AmCham Romania reps attended the Transatlantic 2025 Conference hosted by AmCham EU and meetings with Romanian officials on investment climate, PNRR funds, and Romania’s OECD accession and a strategy alignment session with AmChams in Europe, focusing on transatlantic business relations and legislative outlook.
