Innovation Labs is an educational program, completely privately funded, that fosters an entrepreneurial culture among students, researchers, and young professionals. Following the selection Hackathons, the participants are joining, as startups, an accelerator program and a community that helps them drive innovation and develop Romanian-based IP products. 

Since 2013, the program has enhanced the education acquired in university programs, with practical experience, communication skills, and insights from mentors, real or potential users, and investors. The program has impacted over 2.375 alumni and counts currently over 50 active SMEs and 9 exits.

Innovation Labs was founded by Andrei Pitiș and Răzvan Rughiniș, and started 13 years ago with a single Hackathon and workshop series in Bucharest and 10 graduating teams. Over the years, it has evolved into a national program, hosting four annual Hackathons in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, and Timișoara, with invited participants from Arad, Brașov, Constanța, Târgu Mureș, Oradea, Sibiu, Suceava. Today, Innovation Labs collaborates with 21 universities across Romania, fostering a strong academic and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
