Innovation Labs is a privately funded educational program dedicated to building Romania’s next generation of technology entrepreneurs. We support students, researchers, and young professionals who want to transform ideas into real, Romanian-based IP products and startups. Through selection Hackathons and a structured accelerator program, teams from all across the country gain access to hands-on learning, mentorship, and a strong community that helps them move from concept to execution, without giving away equity or receiving material benefits in return.

Since 2013, Innovation Labs has complemented traditional university education with practical experience, real-world feedback, and exposure to users, mentors, and investors. Almost 6,000 participants have taken part in the Innovation Labs Hackathons, and we are proud to have helped create 50+ active startups and 10 successful exits. Starting with a single Hackathon and a small workshop series in Bucharest, Innovation Labs has grown into a national program that engages teams from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, Brașov, Constanța, Oradea, Sibiu, Suceava, Târgu Mureș, and Arad and collaborates with 23 universities across these 11 cities. 

The program is built on a culture of continuous iteration and improvement: in 2024, Innovation Labs launched its own educational curriculum, and in 2025, it was adopted across all program centers alongside other major upgrades. 2026 marks a pivotal year. While maintaining our national reach, we are launching a dedicated digital platform, strengthening partnerships with universities and SASes, and consolidating the program into a single, stronger national center, with teams selected through one unified Hackathon in Bucharest.
