A Corporate and M&A Group at SAA advised American Industrial Partners Capital Fund VII (AIP Fund VII) on the Romanian elements related to the acquisition of Veoneer's Restraint Control Systems business.

The deal with AIP Fund VII completes Veoneer’s and SSW's strategy of finding the right long-term destinations for Veoneer’s three original lines of business: Arriver™ Software, now owned by Qualcomm; Active Safety, now owned by Magna International; and Restraint Control Systems, now owned by AIP Fund VII.

Veoneer (https://www.veoneer.com/en) is a market leader in Automotive Safety Electronics. In the past year, nearly 1 in every 4 cars that left the production lines globally was equipped with Veoneer’s Restraint Control System products, offering protection to vehicle occupants in the event of a traffic accident.

American Industrial Partners (https://americanindustrial.com/about/) is an operationally-oriented middle market private equity firm that is distinctively focused on buying and improving industrial businesses with operations in the U.S., Canada, and other developed markets.

The Stratulat Albulescu team advising on the Romanian law elements of the transaction was led by Managing Partner Silviu Stratulat and also included Senior Associate Amanda Csaki and Associate Cezara Mitea. Partner Ana Maria Kusak led the team handling Competition related matters, where Associate Alexandru Lazar was also involved.
